Warden Pendragon, has it occurred to you that your lack of assignment might be due to exhibited notions of prejudice? The forces which govern our residence here have been shown to be observant, even if they do not often engage in meaningful conversation.

For example, you identify Merlin as, not a friend or associate, but by his former obligations to you. A relationship typified by dominance and submission, rather than equality.

Merlin is here to operate in the capacity of a warden, not servant and should be referred to as such. Simply put, why would a prospective inmate see you as an example to aspire to, when you rely upon others to take care of your own affairs? What do you have to offer them?

If squandering your personal time is a concern, offering your services to other wardens would at least be a valuable learning experience. Perhaps Merlin, himself?
