It is an honor to serve the king. [That's a joke. But it was weird, though again, Arthur explained it away in his head. Merlin was always sort of weird and he had to know that Arthur would give him anything he asked for, so if that's what he wanted, that's what he was going to get.]

[Four years. She hadn't heard that bit yet, it kind of takes all the strength straight out of her. Merlin hadn't wanted to go back to Camelot at all, so being stuck there for four years is just... unthinkable. No wonder he was so drastically different inside.]

I... [She doesn't know what she's trying to say now, what should go here. Four years hiding his magic, four years without the support he had here on the barge. A small, selfish part of her realizes four years without her changes everything, but she pushes it down as fast as it comes.]
