To anyone that I have sparred with since arriving here, or even anyone new who would be interested, would you happen to have any spare time today for another match?
[Private to Merlin]
[This took him like six times to actually put down on paper. And he still doesn't think it's a good idea.]
What really happened with the Questing Beast?
[Private to Charles]
Do you have a moment?

Gaius told me that being bitten by the Questing Beast meant that the Old Religion had chosen you to die. If I was going to save you, it had to be by offering another life in return, to restore the balance.
I went to the Isle of the Blessed and found the sorceress Nimueh there. She gave me the Cup Of Life, and told me that if you were to drink water from it, someone else would die so that you could live. I promised her that I would freely give my life so that yours would be spared. I took the Cup back to Camelot, and you started to recover after you drank from it.
Then my mother came to Camelot. She was dying. Nimueh [or that fucking dragon who knows] took her life instead of mine. Then I learnt that Gaius had gone to the Isle of the Blessed, to give his life to spare ours.
I followed him there. Nimueh asked me to join her, but I refused. We fought, and I killed her. The balance of life and death was restored by that.
That's what happened.

Then why is Morgana here with a deal to save my life from that bite?

I don't know if it's a good idea to assume that.

They're just words, Arthur.
Re: Private/Written
What proof do you have otherwise?

"Sire."
And by this point, he was fine with Arthur setting the subject and tone of the conversation so he didn't say anything else.

"Things between us could have been different. If I'd paid more attention to her."
This could be a second chance at that. And wasn't that what this ship was all about, second chances? He could still see Camelot run over in his head, but was it fair to hold a crime she had no idea about against her?

"She turned against Camelot because she felt nobody there would support her. Morgause offered her what we didn't," he said finally. "Even if she is lying, if she's an Inmate, then she wouldn't be here if she couldn't change. Either way I don't think either of us should turn our backs on her."

"I have duties in the Infirmary, sire," he said - using the sort of detached tone he only ever used around visiting dignitaries to show a sense of decorum. "With your leave?"
